This stencil dyed calendar on Japanese paper was carefully made one sheet by one sheet by hand. The design belongs to Keisuke Serizawa, the late living national treasure and a holder of a technique which was designated as an important intangible cultural property.

You can feel the warmth of this cushion. It is a strong point of Yatsuo paper. The motif is Keijusha's original which is derived from the traditional patterns of the Ainu race or some African tribes. It is very stout.

Washibunko is a personal library that contains a great collection of paper works by Keisuke Yoshida, founder of Keijusha. Both the tea room and the bunko are available at any time within the business hours of Keijusha.

You can watch or experience the papermaking at the studio. You need to make a reservation seven days in advance. A single person cannot apply. There are no English-speaking stuff. So an inquiry and a reservation should be made in Japanese only.

1.1 Take a train on JR Takayama Line and get off at Yatsuo Station, and then take a Yatsuomachi Meguri bus and get off at Kamishinguchi stop. Walk about five minutes.
1.2 Take a Chitetsu bus for Yatuso and get off at Yatsuo-kagamimachi stop and walk about ten minutes.
1.3 Take a taxi. It is about 45 minutes' taxi ride.
